Trillium is a modest and efficient home
designed to connect with the natural environment
of the Methow Valley. Living spaces oriented to the
western forest and the North Cascades,
the open interior provides refuge that feels
immersed in its surroundings.
Steel, cedar, and concrete blend with
the native landscape, offering a material palette
that requires minimal maintenance.
The main level floats above the ground,
creating a sense of being in the trees,
while the lower level burrows into the hillside
to provide natural cooling during the warm summer season.
Creating a fine balance between the modern refuge
and its rugged surroundings, Trillium provides shelter
that minimally distracts from the site's natural beauty.
